The Palazzo Reale (Reale Palace) is situated in the centre of Milan and was once the seat of the commune administration in the 11th century.
Milan's Palazzo Reale (Reale Palace) was completely rebuilt during the 1330s and became the headquarters of the Lords of Milan. In 1598 the Palazzo Reale was home to the first permanent theatre in Milan and Mozart actually played here when has was just a child.
The city of Milan purchased the grand Palazzo Reale (Reale Palace) in 1965 and sympathetically converted the building into stylish offices and museums, including the Civico Museo d'Arte Contemporanea (CIMAC), containing an interesting and unusual futuristic art collection.
