The Palazzo Litta (Litta Palace) dates back to the mid-17th century and was built for Count Bartolomeo Arese by Francesco Maria Richini. Around 100 years later, the interior of Milan's Palazzo Litta was updated and also the palace's famous pink facade was added by the heirs, the Litta Visconti Arese.
The Palazzo Litta (Litta Palace) is highly regarded and widely believed to be one of the most beautiful examples of 18th-century architecture in this region of Italy. Attractions at Milan's Palazzo Litta include many magnificent rooms, a typical 17th-century courtyard, a grand staircase lavishly decorated with marble and also a room that still contains original 18th-century wallpaper. Since 1905, Milan's Litta Palace has been home to the State Railways offices.
