Milan's Giardini Pubblici (Public Gardens) covers approximately 16 hectares / 40 acres, making it the largest city park in Milan. Designed and landscaped in 1786 by Piermarini, the Giardini Pubblici (Public Gardens) were enlarged during 1857, with further changes made over the years.
The beautiful Giardini Pubblici (Public Gardens) are located on the north-eastern side of Milan and are the perfect place to unwind, away from Milan's busy city centre. Attractions at Milan's Public Gardens include three small lakes and numerous monuments and statues. Also, at the far end of the Giardini Pubblici is the 18th-century Palazzo Dugnale, which is home to the Greenhouse Laboratories, part of the renowned Milan Natural Science Centre.
